Northern Ministers Under Fire for Failing to Defend Tinubu’s Reforms

Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, has faulted ministers and heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) from Northern Nigeria for their perceived silence in projecting the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The governor expressed concern that key federal appointees from the region have not been sufficiently proactive in communicating and defending the policies and reforms of the current administration, especially amid growing public dissatisfaction and economic challenges.

Sani warned that the lack of coordinated communication by northern officials has created a vacuum, enabling critics and opposition voices to dominate public discourse around the Tinubu-led government.

He stressed that public office holders have a dual responsibility — not only to implement government policies but also to clearly explain their impact and benefits to citizens.

According to him, several federal government initiatives, particularly in infrastructure development, economic reforms, and security interventions, remain poorly communicated to the public.

The governor noted that this gap in information dissemination is fueling misconceptions and negative perceptions about the administration, especially across Northern Nigeria.

Sani therefore urged northern ministers and MDA heads to be more deliberate and strategic in engaging the public, emphasizing that effective communication is critical to sustaining trust and support for ongoing reforms.
