‘We’ve made a much higher offer’ – Victor Osimhen told he must decide ‘as soon as possible’ as Galatasaray insist they have outbid Man Utd for Napoli striker

WHAT HAPPENED?
Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu has publicly urged Osimhen to finalise his decision regarding a permanent transfer, stating the Turkish club have submitted a significantly higher offer than their European rivals, including Manchester United. Kavukcu confirmed at a press conference that negotiations have taken place with Napoli and that Osimen remains the club’s top priority.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Osimhen, 26, enjoyed a prolific loan spell at Galatasaray in the 2024-25 season, scoring 37 goals across all competitions and ending the campaign as the Turkish Super Lig’s top scorer. Despite rejecting a previous move to Al-Hilal, the Nigerian remains a high-profile target for multiple clubs from Europe, including Chelsea, Juventus and Liverpool.
Galatasaray’s renewed bid appears to place them ahead in the race, though Osimhen is yet to commit. The striker is currently on holiday and has delayed making a final decision.
WHAT ABDULLAH KAVUKCU SAID
Galatasaray, the vice-president on the Osimhen deal said: “Osimhen must decide as soon as possible. He always asks us for time, we respect that, he has a family too, but time runs out. We have made a much higher offer than other European clubs and at the moment we are not negotiating other strikers. We are not thinking about plan B, we want Osimhen . We have already spoken to Napoli too . Our goal is to build a team that can compete with teams from all over the world, not just in Turkey. We must be patient. We are working day and night.”
WHAT NEXT FOR VICTOR OSIMHEN?
Osimhen is expected to respond to the Turkish club’s offer once he returns from holiday. Napoli remain in talks with interested clubs with Manchester United monitoring the situation. Galatasaray, meanwhile, are pushing to finalise the deal early in the window to prepare for the next season.
