Tinubu, Abiodun, Oshiomhole, others pay tribute to ex-IGP Egbetokun’s service
Tributes have continued to pour in for the 22nd Inspector-General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun, as prominent leaders across Nigeria commend his service and contributions to national security.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led the accolades, recalling his first encounter with Egbetokun in 1998. He described the then-young officer as embodying “character, discipline, intellectual depth, and an unwavering sense of duty.”
“There was a quiet confidence about him, rooted not in ambition, but in competence and integrity. Those early impressions endured,” the President said.
Tinubu also reflected on Egbetokun’s role as his Chief Security Officer, noting that he served with professionalism, loyalty, and diligence.
