“Marriage is a waste of time” – Chinese Man Quits City Job to Live Peacefully in a Cave
Many people yearn for a stable career and marriage, but a man in China has decided to give up on all of that.
Min Hengcai quit his job after finding work life repetitive and meaningless
He also dubbed marriage a “waste of time” and decided it was better to live in seclusion in a cave.

Min, who was an e-hailing driver previously, earned around RMB10,000 (RM5,900) a month, but the income did not impress him. Parts of the income were used to pay the debt he owed his relatives, and Min said he used to work 10 hours a day just for this purpose.
Despite living in a hermit lifestyle today, Min admitted that he still carries debts from bank loans, which amount to RMB300,000 (RM177,600).
He has completely given up on his financial debts
He has given up hope of repaying the debts, citing that his relatives had sold his properties and used the money to clear the remaining debts.

As for his new living arrangement, Min spent around RMB40,000 (RM23,600) to turn a 50-square-metre cave into his new home, after trading his land for a smaller plot owned by another villager. In his new home, Min leads a simple, quiet life.
He wakes up at 8am daily and reads if he is not walking around, or working on the land
When it comes to basic necessities, Min primarily lives off the vegetables he cultivates on his own.

Whatever money he has is spent only on daily necessities, according to a video on QQ.com, a Chinese media.
While this lifestyle may sound dull to many, Min says it’s a lifestyle he has been dreaming of. He also added that his family members are not against his wish, saying,
“I’m not using their money.”
Min calls his new home a “black hole,” saying that it is now his whole universe. We guess the man has really settled down and reached the peak of his life.
If given the choice, are you willing to live in seclusion like Min?
