6 Tinubu’s appointees who resigned before March 31 deadline

As the March 31 deadline for political appointees to step down elapsed yesterday, seven officials in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have resigned from their positions to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, resigned on March 30, 2026, to contest the governorship of Bauchi State. He was appointed in 2023 and hails from Gamawa Local Government Area.

Yusuf Sununu stepped down as Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
