Chibuzor Chinyere restores power to Ndoki communities in Abia State, after two decades of darkness

Residents of Ikwuorie Autonomous Community in Ohanku Ndoki and other parts of Ndoki in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State are celebrating the restoration of electricity after nearly 20 years without power.

The breakthrough followed the intervention of His Royal Majesty, Chibuzor Chinyere, Founder and General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries and traditional ruler of Ikwuorie Ancient Kingdom, who personally financed the rehabilitation of critical power infrastructure.

Community sources said the cleric-king spent millions of naira to replace vandalised high-tension cables and other materials, working in collaboration with Aba Power to restore supply to the affected communities.

The intervention addressed a longstanding blackout caused by the destruction and theft of power installations across Ohanku and the wider Ndoki axis.

Beyond his immediate domain, Chinyere also funded the energising of transformers and installation of poles and cables in three autonomous communities—Ikwuorie, Ujuru, and Okotoko—despite being the traditional ruler of only Ikwuorie.

His intervention was reportedly prompted by a courtesy visit from the Chairman of Ukwa East Local Government Area, Chibunna Akara, who drew attention to the prolonged lack of electricity in the area.

It was gathered that the replacement of the stolen high-tension cable, completed on October 22, 2025, was fully funded by the monarch, paving the way for the restoration of power.

In appreciation, community leaders paid a visit to the royal father to commend his efforts, describing the development as a major relief for residents and businesses.

The intervention underscores Chinyere’s ongoing commitment to grassroots development, largely supported through resources from Omega Power Ministries.

Meanwhile, the monarch has appealed to the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, to provide prepaid meters to ensure stable electricity supply in Ndoki and across Ukwa East. The governor reportedly pledged support, including the provision of additional transformers.

Chinyere had earlier donated over 100 plots of land to the state government for the construction of a general hospital in Ikwuorie, further boosting development efforts in the area.
