Moroccan club sack Senegal midfielder over AFCON 2025 title stripping remarks

Senegal midfielder, Issa Ndiaye has been sacked by Moroccan second division club, USM Oujda, DAILY POST reports.

Ndiaye’s contract was terminated after he allegedly mocked the Confederation of African Football, CAF, decision to award the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title to Morocco

The player’s public comments was deemed disrespectful by USM Oujda.

CAF’s appeal board stripped Senegal of the AFCON 2025 title on Tuesday.

The board ruled that the Terangha Lions decision to walk off the pitch for 17 minutes during the final violated the competition’s regulations.

The West Africans won the thrilling final 1-0.
