Man takes lady out on a date, orders ₦40k food, pays ₦5k and runs away
A lovely date took an unexpected turn after a man who took his girlfriend out refused to settle a bill of N40,000. Instead, he only paid N5,000.
In a viral video making the rounds on social media, the lady narrated how she went on a date with an “Odogwu” who could not cover the N40,000 cost of the food they ordered.
In the video, the table was filled with different kinds of food and drinks, including bottled water, at a fancy restaurant.
When it was time to pay, the lady said she had already cleared the bill because the man claimed his network was not working. She later handed him the receipt, which showed a total of N40,000.
According to her, the man picked up his phone, saying he was about to transfer the money back to her. He asked for her bank details, and when she told him “Opay”, he quickly sent the money.
To her surprise, the alert showed only N5,000. She asked, “ah, why am I just seeing N5000 here?”
The man replied that he had only paid for his own meal, which cost N4,800, and even added an extra N200. He said, “my own of course, I even added N200, check the list na, I was supposed to pay N4,800.”
The lady laughed at first, but she was left shocked when the man explained further that he could not afford N40,000. He stressed that he only ordered what he could pay for, while she went for items worth N35,200.
The disagreement continued until the man stood up and walked out of the restaurant, leaving the lady stunned.
