7 Things The Bible Forbids That Human Beings Still Do On Daily Basis
Despite the moral and spiritual guidance in the Bible, many people—whether knowingly or unknowingly—still engage in activities the scripture warns against. Here are seven examples:
1. Lying
Bible Reference: Proverbs 12:22 – “The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.”
Whether in business, relationships, or casual conversations, lying remains a daily habit for many, even though the Bible strictly condemns it.
2. Gossiping and Slander
Bible Reference: Leviticus 19:16 – “Do not go about spreading slander among your people.”
Sharing unverified information or talking behind someone’s back is common, but the Bible views it as sinful and destructive.
3. Greed and Love of Money
Bible Reference: 1 Timothy 6:10 – “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.”
Pursuing wealth at all costs—often at the expense of integrity and compassion—goes directly against biblical teaching.
4. Sexual Immorality
Bible Reference: 1 Corinthians 6:18 – “Flee from sexual immorality.”
The Bible forbids adultery, fornication, and other forms of sexual sin, yet these acts remain prevalent in society.
5. Drunkenness
Bible Reference: Ephesians 5:18 – “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.”
While the Bible doesn’t forbid drinking in moderation, it clearly warns against drunkenness, which impairs judgment and leads to sin.
6. Idolatry
Bible Reference: Exodus 20:3 – “You shall have no other gods before me.”
In today’s world, idolatry isn’t only about statues—it includes anything we place above God, such as fame, money, possessions, or even self-image.
7. Unforgiveness
Bible Reference: Matthew 6:14-15 – “If you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
Many hold grudges for years, forgetting that the Bible commands believers to forgive as God has forgiven them.
